The Floating World Book Launch
Description
Ben Eastham in conversation with Angelique Neumann
On a remote Greek island, a billionaire is building a climate-controlled utopia beneath a geodesic dome, a new Eden for the ultra-wealthy while the outside world burns. When a grieving journalist is hired to write propaganda for its spectacular unveiling, he jumps at the chance to restart a life after the death of his wife. But beneath the dazzling surface of this collaboration between art and power run deep currents of violence, and the dream is getting harder to tell from the reality.
Ben Eastham is the editor-in-chief of e-flux Criticism, a founding editor of The White Review, and a widely published writer on contemporary art. He has curated exhibitions at the Shanghai Biennale, Documenta and Seoul Mediacity Biennale. The Floating World is his debut novel.
