Essay Reading Club - Session #3
Description
Essay Reading Club
Your "Saved" folder is where good writing goes to die.
We all have them: the Substack deep-dives read at 3 AM, the vintage Joan Didion scans, the op-ed that made you angry or the piece of journalism that made you cry on the metro. But unlike books, these shorter formats rarely get a room of their own; they usually stay trapped behind a screen.
We think those words deserve some air.
The Essay Reading Club, a bi-monthly experiment dedicated to non-fiction and the art of the short form. Hosted by Carolina Monteiro (a Salted regular who practically lives in the footnotes of the internet), this is a space to share the texts that haunt you.
The premise is simple: you bring a piece (contemporary or classic, digital or print) and read an excerpt. We listen, we yap over some wine, we debate. Think of it as a live mixtape of the best writing you’ve found lately.
