Animation Workshop: Persian Poetry

With Millad Khonsorkh, June 16, 6.30-8pm

In this workshop, we'll take a short piece of Persian poetry and turn it into a collective hand-drawn animation. We'll read a few poems together, choose one, and each person will animate a line using simple materials like pencils, crayons, and pastels.

By the end of the session, each participant will have created a short sequence that forms part of a shared film. I'll take the drawings away, edit them into a finished animation, and send them back to everyone afterwards.

No experience needed.
This is about the process as much as the result. You'll be guided through a simple animation approach, building your drawings frame by frame, before seeing them come together as one collective film.

Millad Khonsorkh is a British-Iranian animator and filmmaker based in
Lisbon. Working across documentary and hand-drawn animation, his practice explores memory, identity, and everyday life. He also runs collaborative workshops focused on accessible, process-driven approaches to animation.
